The Donald is POTUS 🇺🇸
I wrote this big piece in September on the Trump Trade and what could be changing with a Trump presidency.
Don’t tell anyone — but personally I think Trump/Vance won’t be able to turn this ship around. Things have gone too far.
DRILL BABY DRILL!
The most immediate change with Trump will be more liberal regulation on oil drilling. Which makes this video very relevant — in case everyone starts expanding capacity within a broader oil bear market!
Downside at AI
I’ve been ramping up for Part #2 of the Downside at AI series.
Read Part #1 below.
I don’t know…but the market seems to be so sold on the idea that a further migration to the Cloud is unavoidable. I am not so sure:
Cloud is locking them in. Do they like that?
Has Cloud passed scale economies to their customers? I doubt it.
Isn’t Cloud a commoditised service? Or at least, shouldn’t it be?
Big Cloud seems to be trying to “tie up” their customers with extra services — in order to increase switching costs and make more money.
Amazon’s AWS makes 37% operating margins… this doesn’t sound right.
And if Big Cloud is tying up their services, that’s illegal under the Sherman Act.
These are just some of the layers we will investigate in the follow-up pieces to Part #1 of Downside at AI.

I explained how I would play this setup pre-merger, and why.
